Property of product: 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid is a vinyl monomer with sulfonic acid group. It has good thermal stability, decomposition temperature up to 210℃, and the decomposition temperature of its sodium salt homopolymer can reach 329℃. In aqueous solution, the hydrolysis rate is slow, and the sodium salt solution has excellent hydrolysis resistance under high pH value condition. Under acidic condition, the hydrolysis resistance of its copolymer is far higher than that of polyacrylamide. The monomer can be made into crystal or sodium salt aqueous solution.

Product Usage:AMPS can be used for copolymerization or homopolymerization, and is widely used in various fields such as oil field chemistry, water treatment, synthetic fiber, printing and dyeing, plastics, paper making, water-absorbing coating, biomedicine, magnetic materials, cosmetics and the like.
1. Water treatment: homopolymer of AMPS monomer or copolymer of AMPS monomer with acrylamide, acrylic acid and other monomers can be used as sludge dewatering agent in sewage purification process, and used as preservative of iron, zinc, aluminum, copper and alloy in closed water circulation system;Also can be used for heaters, cooling towers, air purifiers and gas purifiers, scale inhibitors.
2. Oilfield Chemistry: The application of the products in the oilfield chemistry field is developing rapidly. The scope of products includes oil well cement additives, drilling fluid additives, acidizing fluids, fracturing fluids, completion fluids and workover fluid additives, etc.
3. Synthetic fiber: AMPS is an important monomer to improve the comprehensive performance of some synthetic fibers, especially acrylic fiber or acrylonitrile-vinyl chloride fiber. Its dosage is 1%-4% of the fiber, which can obviously improve the whiteness, dyeing property, antistatic property, air permeability and flame retardancy of the fiber.
4. Size for textiles: Copolymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulphonic acid, ethyl acetate and acrylic acid, ideal size for cotton and polyester blended fabrics, easy to use and easy to remove with water.
5. Papermaking: Copolymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulphonic acid and other water-soluble monomers, is an indispensable chemical for all kinds of paper mills. It can be used as drainage aid, sizing agent to increase the strength of paper, and also as pigment dispersant for color coating.
